The mission of Kamwenge Secondary and Vocational School (KSVS) is to build future generations by equipping individuals with employable skills for sustainable development in a Christian context. The lifeblood sustaining the operation of KSVS is our network of champions.
When you champion a student, you are impacting the student, the school, the staff, and the entire community of Kamwenge. Becoming a student champion pays a student’s tuition which provides the funding needed to hire well-trained, dedicated teachers and run the day-to-day operations of the campus.

You can become a champion of a student at Good Shepherd Kindergarten and Primary School (GSK) or Kamwenge Secondary and Vocational School (KSVS).
Make a monthly payment of $40/month or an annual contribution of $480/year.

Stella’s Story
Stella is a secondary student at KSVS. When she was 15, school staff learned that her parents had decided to remove her from school and have her marry an older man. Though it is illegal in Uganda for parents to remove a child from school to marry at a young age, it often occurs unreported in poor rural communities. School officials reached out to local authorities who informed the parents they were breaking the law. Stella remained in school, but needed a champion to pay for her tuition and room and board. “20 Moms” from 1st Presbyterian Church in Glen Ellyn, IL gathered together to offer financial and spiritual support for Stella. She is now a confident young woman looking forward to graduation in a few years.
